Singapore Air Show

I have to confess, I really enjoy war/military-themed movies. Men in uniforms, politics, action, power-play...and cool machinery. So to see so many planes up close was pretty wow for me. We almost missed the plane acrobatics display due to the insane queues. But thankfully got to see snippets of it from the bus, which only heightened the anticipation more!

On a totally unrelated note, thought I'd just share with you this blog I really like, dedicated to celebrating life's simple pleasures. What strikes me most when I read it is how unpretentious and beautiful the author's world is, reducing it to its most elementary form. When you break it down into bite-sized pieces, you realise the world isn't as complex as people make it out to be.

Inspired, I've also been jotting down my own '3 things' for a couple of months now. After getting the hang of it, I was pleasantly surprised how my list of 3 things kept growing, and 3 became 4, and 5, 6, etc.

What better way to take stock of life, or note down happy moments, or remind yourself to be content and grateful. Self-therapy I like to call it. And really, if you think about it, it doesn't take a lot of effort to count our blessings, or to be a happier person.

Here's my 3 things for the past week, what's yours?

1. Missing my bus when I arrive at the bus stop one early morning, and using the time waiting to untangle my very-knotted-up necklace I plan to wear with my outfit for the day. I succeed just before the next bus arrives and feel a sense of triumph.
2. A friend uses her special discount to buy me a Nigella Lawson cookbook that I've been eyeing a while, which I couldn't bear to pay full retail price for. I can't wait to get my hands on the book.
3. My sis offers to whip up my favourite cheese omelette for breakfast this morning.
