Funny boys. Comics. Yay.

Me / my iPod = OTP, baby. OurloveissoPURE!

Saw Without a Paddle last night. I'm so in love that movie.

No, it really wasn't that funny (pretty much all the best jokes can be found by watching the trailer to be honest). Yes, it had a corny ending, and yes, the part where they were canoing was *laughably* awful (you CANNOT SURF in a friggin' *canoe* down whitewater rapids with big fucking *rocks* in the river).

But. Oh my GOD, Matthew Lillard and Seth Green and another hot guy whose name I forget. Being slashy as all *hell.* We're talking a couple lines of dialogue away from an NC-17 slash fic, here. There's this scene, where all three of them are in only their underwear (lord knows why, but I am so not complaining) and it starts raining. So, of course they have to cuddle for body heat.

And just. I can't even describe how close they went to a full-blown threesome sex scene. It was SO CUTE. There was spooning. These guys were so *fucking* in love with each other, and I just *know* that the sex scene they *must* have had out in the wilderness is going to be on the DVD.

There was also a hilarious scene making fun of hippie girls, which I highly enjoyed, especially when the hippie girls got to throw shit (literally) at the asshole ATV-ers. *g* 'Twas a rather cathartic scene for me.

Also? It was filmed in New Zealand, which means the visuals were *stunning.*

Comeecs! Aaaall the DC stuff I've read in the last few weeks:

Outsiders #14: I like Winick. He manages to make issues that would otherwise just be fillers in the plot arc stand out on their own and be interesting beyond just advancing the plot, which is what this issue is. It's use is basically just to further the plot arc and story, but there's all sorts of interesting stuff happening beyond that.

I like seeing more of Jade, and I LOVED her putting the smackdown on Nightwing. I also liked the action scenes--I get so geeked out about cool new powers and interesting fight scenes. (Also: yay, femslashy mouth-to-mouth!)

Art-wise, this issue kind of stunk. Raney's art suffers without inking, and it felt like he really rushed through this issue--Jade and Arsenal's faces looked *really* strange, and Dick was flat-out ugly.

Doctor Spectrum #1: *blink* Not sure why Doc Spectrum gets his own book, but whatever.

This was interesting. Not much new information and no new plot, but I enjoyed the insight into Joe Ledger's character. He's one of the Supreme Powers guys that most intrigues me, and I definitely liked that whoever's doing the art for this book is as much into male nudity as the guy drawing Supreme Powers. *g*

BoP #72: YES. Oh man, you can just tell that Gail Simone is having a blast writing this. The plot is starting to take shape, and as usual it's femslashy as *hell.* Yay!

Babs. Oh *honey.* God, I'm so fucking fascinated by her 'possession' or whatever it is. I really, really can't wait to see what happens next. That's how comics should be, man.

Loving the Helena/Vixen interaction, as well as the constant Babs/Dinah love. God, there so needs to be more Babs/Dinah. In fact, I think I'll write some. *firm nod*

Nightwing #96: Aw, fuck. 'War Games' is one of those crossover 'event' things that I'm going to have to buy tons of issues of comics that I don't read to understand what's going on, isn't it? *sigh* Can someone tell me what books I need to buy for the rest of War Games?

I am liking Catalina more and more with each issue. God, that's so... sweet in a very scary way that she wants to help the Latino Unified. (Sidenote: Latina power in comics! Yay!)

And yikes, poor Dick. Something tells me that Oracle and Tarantula? NOT going to get along. And he's caught in the middle. Poor dear.

And the Timmy cameo! Oh ye gods. *cradles the boy to my bosom* That reflection... god. He's going quietly insane, isn't he? And then one day he's going to snap and almost-fatally injure whatever nearest criminal he can find, and then run off to the hills and live with the wolves. I know it.

Ex Machina #3: So, so loving this. I mean, I won't gush with *more* Vaughan love 'cause I know I probably sound like a broken record, but god. This is so *fascinating.* The art is so gorgeous, and I already feel invested in the characters three issues in. Damn.

Also? I love Vaughan's language when he's not being censored. "A cunt hair away from being disintegrated"? *glee*

Supreme Power #12: Man. This was just a fantastically well-written issue. The pacing, the art, the big setup at the end... *christ.* I am so in love with this series and I can't *wait* to see Hyperion and Nighthawk work together and I want to see more of Aquagirl and I'm in love with Doc Spectrum and YEEEEEEEEEE.

*breathes*

Bit of suspension of belief, though, when it comes to the eebil government plot; I find it hard to believe that *anyone* could be stupid enought to test big bad superhero-power generating microbes on *convicted mass murderers.* I like to think that any government would at least have the brain cells to recognize that as a *phenomonally* bad idea.

Teen Titans #14: Tim. Kon. I. *frenetic gestures*

THE LOVE. My GOD. Kon! And Tim! And Kon! And Tim! And-*slaps self*

Yes. That scene made me very very happy and I already have, like, three WiPs started on my hard drive inspired by that scene. Kon's face when he mentioned Tim's ex-girlfriend. Kon's sudden flight. Tim's face when he recognized Kon. ENYA. Just. I. *GLEE GLEE GLEE*

And Cassie! Oh man, that pedophile line was so perfect. And I'm liking the tension that's coming along between her and Raven, oh yes indeed.

Gar. Baby. *pets him* And do I even need to mention how married Vic and Gar ar? Do I?

Also. Is it shallow that I really, really want to see Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow *solely* for Angelina Jolie in leather and an eyepatch?
