Yes, this is my first post. I enjoy reading what is happening in the lives of my friends, so maybe others will be interested in mine. And if not, maybe I will enjoy doing this. To start, does anyone know how to add friends that are already on livejournal? I thought I was pretty good with computers, but I can't seem to figure this out.
So yesterday I had to be at work at 2 so I took the opportunity to get up early and have the morning to myself. I went over some personnel stuff for work, updated my materia medica for Valerian herb and took an exhilerating 45-minute walk in the foggy, misty 40 degree weather. As I was walking I felt that I had an advantage over others in the world. And this is only because of the weather. When it is a rainy, day gray, I feel I have some sort of lead and I am accomplishing more than others. I was trying to come up with some kind of rationalization for this feeling, but I could not really put it into words. Though I want good weather and prefer the sun, when I wake up and it's grey and cloudy, I get this elated feeling, like this is MY day. Others may despise the weather, they may get depressed, but I feel a weird liberation and my mind frantically organizes my day ahead.
So that was yesterday.
Tonight (Wednesday) is my Thursday, as tomorrow is my last day of work before my two days off. Works is going really well, i am learning more than I thought I would about running a small business and the amount of responsibilty I have is staggering. But at the same time it is very exciting and I am looking forward to everything. The only complaint I have is that some days can be very draining and when I get home, my motivation to do what I want is lost and I just lounge and read. I really should be working on my materia medica and course and countless other projects I have started/want to start. But I think in time I will adjust and get into the routine I want. For those of you who are reading this and do not know, I am a manager at a local food co-op in ann arbor. After volunteering with an upstart co-op back in Providence, it is really great to work for an established organization (they have been around 30+ years!).
I could go on about many items of interest, this being my first entry, but I guess I should cap this off here. I will try to update this regularly and I am excited about this new communication!!!
Take care!
