i can't quite seem to get into posting regularly, but i will try, since everyone else is and it's nice to keep updated. so it's just about 2 pm on saturday. a major snowstorm is starting to die down outside, but don't worry my new englanders, it's headed your way. get ready.
i'm about to go out and buy light bulbs. every one of our light bulbs blew a fuse except one, all at the same time, so it's pretty dark in here at night. on thursday we had people over for the first time for dinner and it was a LOT of fun. being social can be really fun, it's kind of been awhile. i made mushroom bisque, salmon cakes, chocolate cake. that with some wine and port made for a really good time. tonight we're going to see the premiere of a movie that andy did; all i know is it is about vampires.
work is going really well, though i'm putting in a little too much overtime for my liking. i really need a vacation. i haven't left downtown ann arbor since september. i'm really turning into a townie here. i recognize all the people at the bus station, clover leaf restaurant and in the post office. there's a huge homeless populations here, which surprised me. but they all know my name. not having a car here doesn't make for very exciting times. but we are going to go to chicago in a few weeks and then...i'm coming back for a visit the first week of april!!! get ready! i'm very excited to see everyone and see providence again.
so i'm thinking of going to school to get my business certificate, which seems really strange to me, having no prior interest in anything like this, but if i really want to open an herb store, being well verted in tax information, accounting, etc., will be very helpful.
has anyone out there ever taken a business course? any advice?
i am also really excited because rosemary gladstar, the woman who runs sage mountain herbal educations center in vermont (through which i am taking my herbology course) is coming to michigan in april for a weekend retreat!!! it's $180, but i can swing it, she is an amazing, amazing person and i have already learned so much from her.
i'm really nervous about going outside. wind is blowing through all the cracks in my apartment and cars are sliding all over the road. when the storm hits new england, share your updates.
until later...i'll write more frequenty, i promise.
