Rarrrrr!

So, Supanova Melbourne 1 is now completened!

Quick summary: Quite a few things went wrong with the organising, hopefully these were not TOO obvious to patrons (quite literally ALL weekend the only word I could think of for them was "okyakusama"- so the Japanese word for patrons), unfortunately there were WAY too few cosplayers, so I had to spin out the cosplay to make it a bit longer to fill in the time we had allotted for it... T_T But it seemed to be ok, and I had a few people come up and tell me that they liked my hosting, so clearly my just being a complete idiot on stage worked for some. (Yay? Is it good that I'm good at being a complete idiot in public? *confusion*)

Anyway, onto my personal highlights (as I didn't get to actually see much that was on apart from what I hosted and the immediate view from the comp registration desk)
- Cosplay group of girls dancing along to Arashi music! EEEEEE!! New Arashi fan-friends GET! Particularly nice to have them know who I was cosplaying as! Phase one to get Arashi a big following here- IN PROGRESS!
- Having a girl who really made a HUGE effort to get her mum to let her enter the cosplay winning the Jnr section. It was SO adorable, and her mum was really iffy about staying for so long, so her actually winning (she was great- she had cardboard shuriken etc that she threw from the stage ^_^) really made her day, and her mum looked really pleased that it had worked out so well.
- MASSIVE queues for signings. I know it would have SUCKED to be in, but at the same time, the fact that they were so long and moved so slowly made me feel pleased that there were so many people who wanted to see the guests, and that the guests must have been chatting to the okyakusama made me feel happy. ^_^
- The audience for cosplay on Saturday, and the audience for the Karaoke. Srsly, those guys were GREAT. There were STACKS of people at the cosplay on the Saturday, and they clapped and cheered, only needing a little prodding (I know, you get tired and you only want to cheer the ones you REALLY want to cheer, but it's so nerve wracking to get up on stage that everyone really deserves it) and the audience for Karaoke were the BEST I have ever had. They were nice and quiet while people were singing (including when I got up with the girls who liked Arashi and we yelled along to Sakura Sake- I was AWFUL- but we were having fun) and applauded really well once people had finished. You guys were the best.
- Awesome volunteers. As we had almost ENTIRELY new Supanova volunteers due to never having had one down here before, we were apprehensive to say the least. That being said, we had a few volunteers who we were NOT happy with, however we also had some that were just WONDEROUS. So to you guys who were totally awesome, worked hard, were pleasant and helpful (special note from me to Emily- Thanks for reminding me of part of my job at Cosplay on Sunday- clearly all the running around and lack of sleep had an effect so I really dropped the ball there- Thank you so much for helping me out!)
- Ohmiya SK costume! YAAAY!!! It wasn't as good as I'd hoped for (the sequin tape stuff clearly was not such a good idea- it puckered the fabric), however it was really FUN to run around in, and I had a few people get photos of me, and it was really fun to tell people that I was dressed up as part of a comedy duo. ^_^"

Personal lowlights-
- Lack of sleep... *yawn* Once again, too little sleep has just WRECKED me. I feel like I could sleep for days...
- Once again- TOO BUSY- I once again missed out on seeing pretty much the WHOLE of the vendors area. I ran through a few times, but never really got to see it... *pout*
- Seeing friends, but not really... "SEEING" friends. Again, due to how busy I was, I just didn't really get to chat to many people. *sadface*

Anyway... Now I must get back to packing, as time is TICKING!
