[ ] Weigh 115 pounds (I weigh 138 now, so I guess it’s feasible.)
[ ] Take better care of my skin
[ ] Drink more water
[ ] Read more (actually finish what I start) and broaden my tastes
[ ] Keep it classy
[ ] Make my grades a greater priority than they were first semester
[ ] Spend money wisely
[ ] Stop passing judgment on others (okay, impossible to completely eradicate from my life. But… pass judgment less, perhaps?)

1. What did you do in 2006 that you'd never done before?
Tons of things: I moved away from home and shared a room with other people, flew by myself for the first time, put out a two week’s notice, wandered a major city by myself

2. Did you keep your New Years resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Unfortunately, I’m not so sure what my New Year’s resolutions were last year. But I’m working on the ones for next time around (although they more than likely closely resemble last year’s).

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Nope

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Nope :)

5. What countries did you visit?
I’ve stayed in the States.

6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?
A smaller waist line ;)

7. What date from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory and why?
There are many. Graduation would be one of them, and I sure doubt that I need explain why

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Substantial, tangible achievement? Becoming valedictorian. More valuable but less visible? Becoming comfortable in my own skin and growing up.

9. What was your biggest failure?
I don’t think that I treated my friends the way they always deserved.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nothing out of the norm-strep throat once. I get sick fairly often, so I’m used to it. My first semester in college was surprisingly healthy, though

11. What was the best thing you bought?
A very simple peridot necklace

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My brother’s

12.1 Who kept you sane the most?
My neighbors

12.2 Who made you laugh the most?
I’m not sure

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Ah, I can think of a few people.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Clothing and craft supplies.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
COLLEGE-probably past the point of ridiculousness

16. What song will always remind you of 2006?
Natalie Merchant’s “Kind and Generous”.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you happier or sadder?
Much happier.

ii. thinner or fatter?
Thinner

iii. richer or poorer?
Poorer…ish… possibly. Who knows

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Studying and visiting friends

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Criticizing.

20. How will you be spending Christmas/New Year's?
With family

21. How many one-night stands?
None

22. What was your favorite TV program(s)?
Haha, I developed a love for LOST and What Not to Wear

23. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
No, although my opinion of several has changed, most definitely

24. What was the best book you read?
Love in the Time of Cholera

25. What was your greatest musical discovery?
I started getting really into Van Morrison-it was more of a rediscovery, though.

26. What did you want and get?
A home away from home.

27. What did you want and not get?
A million trillion dollars

28. What was your favorite film of this year?
I’m not sure… difficult question. I haven’t seen enough films in the theatres to really assess

29. What did you do on your birthday?
I think I actually might have taken off. And cried. What a fucked up birthday it was

30. What one thing would have made your year more satisfying?
I wish I lost more weight and hadn’t slacked off so pathetically.

31. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006?
Depends on where I was… back home, comfort and, occasionally, work clothing. in the dorms, pajamas. in Boston, I tried to look classy (probably failed)

32. What kept you sane?
Karma.

33. Which celebrity did you fancy the most?
Haha, um, probably none. But Colin Firth is still as gorgeous as ever, if I must invent an answer

34. What political issue stirred you the most?
I got fairly pumped for the elections this year-and was fairly pleased with the outcome. I mean, obviously, there are a few issues that have always “stirred me”: I’m fervently pro-choice and pro-same-sex marriage, for example. I feel bad admitting this but the war in Iraq was never one of my greatest priorities.

35. Who did you miss?
Mon pere, evidemment (mais comment est-ce different?), and some of my friends from home that I haven’t seen in ages

36. Who was the best new person you met?
Probably Alice. I have the utmost respect for her.

37. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2006.
To forgive and to appreciate fully; to be content with what you have

38. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
“And once you’ve seen what they have been, to win the earth just won’t seem worth your night or your day” - Nick Drake
