I can't really tell if I like or hate romantic comedies... Son como dormir una siesta larga por la tarde. Siempre te levantas de mal humor; pero aun así cuando tienes una oportunidad tratas de dormirla.

Well, the same goes for romantic movies and me. When I start to see one, normally (because I'm a sad sentimentalist) I got hook up to the cheesy story pretty fast; but when the end is near and everything is getting fixed up, I really began to panic and wonder why the hell do I sat and watch this pathetic movie. It's not that a like to see how everything turns out all right to the movies characters, or I don't like happy endings. Is that I always feel a little bit disappointed, like when someone you know and like make you a bad joke, like when someone you trust disappointed you. It's the exact same feeling you get when you put all your expectations on a upcoming weekend, only to find out on Sunday that everything turn out the opposite.

First this Saturday, then on Sunday... cheesy romantic comedies... two of them, and I watch them completely... knowing how I feel about romantic comedies. It's horrible! The classic "first encounter" scene, the first date, the first kiss, the first time they sleep together (sometimes all in the same date!), when they meet each other fathers, the moving up together sequence, the conflict, the breakout, the realisation that they can't live without each other, and the final reunification. And then, what I most detest... the happy end. ARRRGG!!!

For me, the classic happy ending feels like an important promise unkeep, a deep betrayal. And then I ask myself: "Why the hell do I still watch those movies?"... Bah, whatever... "everything goes to hell, anyways" (SIC).
