We are carrying torches
Through dark nights
We tread along paths
Beneath our feet.
Whoever has heart,
Whoever is thirsty for the light
Let them come!
A miracle never happened to us.
No vessel of oil did we find.
Rather, we descended to the valley
And we climbed the mountain.
We discovered well-springs
of hidden light.
A miracle never happened to us.
No vessel of oil did we find.
We quarried in the stone until we bled.
“Let there be light.”
