Time, whatever you define that to be, can best be experienced on a short winter day, particularly with access to a long unobstructed horizon. One can actually follow the curvature of the Earth turning in relation to the sun, and almost feel the ground moving. And every day, the sun appears to shift positions. I found some neat animations online that demonstrate how this relationship works.
Sun's shifting position on the horizon. And the sun is moving, too. I find it all pretty astounding. As the saying goes, it never ceases to amaze. So, here we are, just ants on a log.
Ants on a log,
Floating down a river.
Running around,
But not getting anywhere.
