One of the worst songs. Ever.

Well, I think it's time to get ready
To realize just what I have found

This has to be the lamest proclamation of love, ever.  He hasn't realized what he's found.  He isn't ready to realize what he's found.  He isn't even sure it's TIME to prepare to realize.  He merely thinks it is time to prepare to come to some realization.  What the hell?

I have lived only half of what I am

What?  Seriously.  What?

It's all clear to me now

I'm glad you're clear on things.

My heart is on fire

Besides being a cliche, this suggests many things including indigestion and heart disease.  But I'll just let it go as a lazy line....

My soul's like a wheel that's turnin'

....but not this one.  If this line was a lame attempt to force a rhyme, I'd also give it a pass.  But it isn't.  How, exactly, is your soul like a wheel and what makes the turning of the wheel important to the imagery?    So far, all we know is that this guy thinks it might be a good time to consider that he's got heartburn and a soul with characteristics similar to the world's simplest machine.

My love is alive
My love is alive, ya, ya, ya

Alive like Frankenstein's Monster?  Alive in the sense that it is sentient?  I'll be honest that for all the years of hearing this song on the "Classic Rock" stations, I thought he was singing "My love is a lie."

There's something inside that's making me crazy

After bad simile, lazy word choice is the biggest problem in rock songs.  "Something" inside?  I guess he's plain tuckered out after that incredible turning wheel analogy.  The point of a lyric or poetry is to use words in a way that conjures images.  This sounds more like he's talking about the borer eels of Ceti Alpha Five.

I'll try to keep it together
'Cause what I say may not happen the same way

It's always a good idea to try keeping it together, particularly when you've lost the ability to express your thoughts coherently.  What you say may not happen the same way...as you say they will happen?  Okay.

Now could be forever

This phrase grows on me because it's the first passing attempt at a good line, even though it sounds like either the tag line for a jewelry store or the title of a James Bond novel.

There's a mirror moving inside my mind
Reflecting the love that you shine on me

I'm just trying to understand this one.  Let's accept there's a mirror in your head serving as another awkward metaphor.  The purpose of the mirror is to reflect the love...where?  She's already shining her love on you, are you reflecting the love back to her?  If so, doesn't that mean the love isn't coming from you, but just some psychological mimicry?  And why is the mirror moving?  Why is it in your mind, as opposed to, your heart where all the bad songs say love shines?

Hold on now to that feelin'
Let it flow, let it grow, ya, ya

Finally, how do I hold on to that feelin', now AND let it flow and grow?
