I hope you all are having a nice Monday. Other than some technical difficulties with the computer here at work, it's been a good day so far. Of course, it's only 11:23 am, so I'm not holding my breath.
I guess you could list this as a Very Good Thing, if not a Favorite. I went with some friends to a small theater about 45 minutes away to see Adam Pascal & Anthony Rapp from Rent in an accoustic show. It was very good, although I didn't know some of the songs they sang, and I'd hoped they would sing more together. Even though this review is over a year old, it pretty much covers the show I saw. Adam Pascal definitely has a set of pipes on him. My friend Keith saw him in "Something Rotten" recently in Hershey, and said he was very good.
https://www.nytimes.com/2016/10/12/arts/music/adam-pascal-anthony-rapp-review.html My best friend, who bought the tickets for everyone, was randomly picked for the meet and greet. She said they were very nice, and very skinny. LOL
A Favorite! Remember my rant against gravy the other day? Well, John did the grocery shopping, and picked up a Marie Callender meal for me: herb roasted chicken with mashed & corn. Not only is the meat DARK meat (leg/thigh), which is my fave, but THERE IS NO GRAVY INVOLVED. AT ALL. Well done, Ms. Callender. I am waiting for it to cool off enough as we speak.
Not a favorite...wearing jeans to my job as a waitress. I work Sundays at a restaurant called Bob Evans. For those of you not in the Pennsylvania/Ohio area, it is a chain restaurant that is basically "down on the farm" family fare. Lots of carbs. I've been working there almost six years. The uniform has always been khaki or black pants with a white polo shirt, and a full apron. The apron is provided. Everything else we had to buy. Well, a few weeks ago, they sprung the new menu on us. Black long or short-sleeved tee and medium to dark blue jeans. JEANS.
Now, I'm sure all of you are a size six to ten, which means you can find normal jeans and be happy in them. My legs are a size 10. My hips and stomach are a size 22 and I'm not exaggerating. This is no one's fault but mine, I tell you. HOWEVER, finding jeans that fit in the waist and don't look like clown pants is a difficult thing. I went to a few secondhand stores but did not have success. There is NO way I'm spending $50 on jeans to dump food all over. I went through my drawers on Saturday, however, (nothing like waiting until the last minute) and found two pair of jeans that are okay for Standing but not for Sitting. I have learned recently that you must sit to try on jeans, if your job is sitting all day. I did not do that with these jeans, so sitting is not comfortable. In a job that is standing all day, however, they are perfect. I even got a few compliments on them. That being said...I was sweating in them on a Sunday in MARCH. I cannot wait until July and August. Grrr.
Okay, I MUST finish this post on a positive note. OH. Most of my TV shows are ending now for the season (This is Us, Flash, Supergirl, DC Legends, to name a few), so I'm looking for a few new shows to watch. "Deception" on ABC is so cute. It's completely unbelievable, but I love everyone in it. And I'm eager to watch "Instinct," because Alan Cumming. So, there you go.
