Good Night

It's Tuesday morning. The lights are still off.

The biggest drawback to unexpected offline periods, is the sudden and total isolation. I go from having a support network of 3-7 shoulders to lean on, to none.. With the flip of a switch.

When it's the power, it's worse. My computer, my backup computer, and several other junkers and ancient laptops, are all useless. Even the simplest 1-player games are lost to me. Without power, I can't draw, I can't DO much of anything. Hell I can't even watch a movie or TV.

I'm lonely, and my back hurts. Lying around all night in the dark is really boring. I found out that my windup radio can receive audio from one of the local TV stations. So I was able to listen in on two episodes of "Family Feud" and an hour of "The Price is Right".. Which was at least somewhat entertaining. It's amazing though how disinteresting soap operas can be, without video. It's NOT the same as old time radio.

I was supposed to meet Chels last night, to go shopping with her. Luckily I had worked out a shopping list and prices, and I sent that to her before logging off.. But I had no way of realizing it might be several days before I returned.

I hope that Izzy gets the power turned back on tonight, but the way he phrased his answer to my question last night.. "maybe a day".. Indicates that we'll be looking at Wednesday afternoon at the earliest before the power is restored. While I won't be pleased.. I can imagine him trying to justify waiting until Friday.

The housemates all took off for Grandma's house as soon as the older boy was on the bus. 7am and the house was empty. Good in a way I guess.. But again, I'm here alone to fend for myself.

It's tuesday morning. I need to do laundry.
