Geneva

Hello from Switzerland!
I took my first overnight train from Barcelona to Geneva last night. I've been having a great day wandering about the older parts of the city. It´s turning out to be a beautiful day.

I don´t think I slept at all last night - random things kept happening on the train and it made oodles of stops, that´s okay though. I arrived here at 6am, had to figure out a way to obtain Swiss Francs (Switzerland is NOT on the Euro), and then kill some time until everything opened. I had a delicious pastry with REAL chocolate inside and a hot chocolate. (I am definitely taking advantage of this beautiful Swiss chocolate... speaking of which I have a huge Toblerone melting in my purse!) Better eat the whole thing right now ;)

Geneva is such a green city with water everywhere. The people have been really friendly - so "civilized" - very polite. I took a guided tour through the tourism office. The man was so sweet and explained everything twice - in English and French (Geneva is in the French speaking part of Switzerland). I rounded up a little lunch at the supermarket which I enjoyed on the steps along the river while people and swan watching.

I'm just stopping here for a little day trip. In a few hours I will head to Bern (the capital city) where I will be staying the night and most of tomorrow. Then tomorrow I'm heading to Interlaken which I have heard is just absolutely unbelievable - it's out in the mountains somewhere! Interlaken is going to be my little break from all the tourism and the beaten path. I think a little sun, hiking, bike riding and relaxing are in order!

Love to all!

P.S. The funny thing about this keyboard is that the Z and the Y keys are switched - I suppose that SwitZZZZerland uses the Z more frecuently! :)
