Out for a stroll
Cria No. 2 for 2008 was born yesterday, while I was at work in the city and my mother was out here keeping watch. Mom called me a number of times in an increasingly happy mood as things progressed as they were supposed to. I was glad she got fun-filled baby alpaca experience this year, after having to deal with the one born with the broken hip last year. The cria is another female and seems to be spot-free! I think she's been named Miranda and Sunday's cria Sabrina.
Late this afternoon I was outside with the alpacas when I noticed Misty staring intently at something. I turned round and saw this
strolling down the road. After I stopped laughing, I called the people at the end of the street to check if they had an emu. I found it rather strange when the girl who answered the phone didn't know, and had to ask her mother. Surely you'd know if you had an emu? (They did, and came and got it.)
