Guards at the Royal Palace:
The two in front were shouting at each other in some kind of ritual report.
I'm strangely drawn to this kind of thing, and have similar photos from Oslo and London, but I can't quite decide whether it's magnificent or ridiculous. In this photo, I'd lean toward ridiculous.
Me with the best thing I saw on the trip, the
1628 warship Vasa which sank on its maiden voyage. It's the world's only surviving 17th century ship. When I walked into the museum and saw it, I heard myself say, "Oh! Oh!", and felt my stomach drop away the way it does when you're overwhelmed by the wonder of it all. I stayed for 2 1/2 hours and had to drag myself away. My camera couldn't handle the dim light in the museum well enough to take a good photo, but there's a reasonable one
here.
Reindeer!
Baby reindeer:
The narrow, cobble-stone streets of the Old Town part of Stockholm. This was early in the morning, so there was no one about.
A cafe mentioned in the gay & lesbian section of a guidebook. See rainbow flag on the left.
The specialty drink of the cafe, Varm Vit Choklad (hot white chocolate). I managed to drink some of it!
