In case anybody else feels like doing the Sherlock homework
ravenclaw_harpy set me for tomorrow's slash gathering, some links:
A Scandal in Bohemia (Irene Adler)
E-book format here The Greek Interpreter (introduction of Mycroft)
E-book format here plus an extra one:
The Adventure of the Three Garridebs That's the one in which Watson is shot and thinks It was worth a wound - it was worth many wounds - to know the depth of loyalty and love which lay behind that cold mask.
A fun fact about Sir Arthur Conan Doyle from Wikipedia: He was into spiritualism, or the belief that the dead can communicate with the living, and was friends for a time with the magician Harry Houdini. Although Houdini insisted that spiritualist mediums were frauds, Conan Doyle became convinced that Houdini himself possessed supernatural powers. Houdini was apparently unable to convince Conan Doyle that his feats were simply illusions, leading to a bitter public falling out between the two.
I was pleased to learn that there were several Sherlock films before Conan Doyle's death in 1930. I wish he could know that Sherlock and Watson are still regularly appearing 80 years later! (If he was right about spiritualism, maybe he can, but I think not!)
