Today, I got my fingerprints done in the local UPS Store. The man there, his name Samir Mehta, asked me why I needed the fingerprints, mostly out of a curiousity and a way to keep conversation going. I told him they were for the Peace Corps. He asked me where I wanted to go, and I told him Central Asia. He asked me if I was scared. I looked at him and asked, "Scared - why?" He stared at me. I said, "There are people there, people here. No, I'm not scared. It's all the same place." He laughed.
