Throwed in Missouri

Last night I had my first hard core shooting round with the assembly of god crew. Going very smoothly I collected names dates and stores the only crappy part was that I forgot my batteries for the tape recorder. Trust me it won't happen again. In 4 hours I worked my way though 24 willing sitters. The last two sent were boobie trapped. Now let me state for the record that they can witness to their little hearts content when they are in front of my lense, but these two wanted to come around and chat. It was all pretty basic Q and A until the red flag questions came up "Who do you think jesus was?" " He made some outrageous claims, what do you think of them" I replied.. From what the stories say he was a pretty cool guy, he is allowed to think he was whatever he wants too, and so can you. This line of questioning, as suspected, was Pastor Chris's definition of learned inquisition. Great. a Few womem started to cry as they told me their stories. I shook their hands tight and honestly thanked them for sharing with me. If I can capture the look on their faces as they discuss their faith.. ooo ahh lovely. Instead of :What day were you saved?: New Lingo Learned: What is the date of your salvation? Briliant! It flows better. I just wish I didn't have to wait till wenesday after noon to start processing my negatives. I've got 14 rolls now!
I'm pleased to tell you that i've got the fuses for my light, and my camera arrived. Now everything is working and in place. Today I'll be going to the college and taking photographs of the students of Evangel College. Everyone has been sweet and i even got a valentine at dinner from the family.
I had the chance to take from fun pictures with the older girls today while the baby was naping. they had alot of fun and so did I. I'm excited to see the quality for this new camara and the 2 1/4 when it comes to printing. I have only postivie expectations. I'm encreasingly greatful for the lightmeter. It's been such a life saver and it so easy to use. I've explained most of my equipment to the children. They are pleased to be included in the process. The eldest was in charge of clicking the button today as I lifted her younger sister up so she could hang slam dunk style from the basket ball hoop. They are eager and so alive. I was worried at first about my ablity to interact with people their age since there are no children in my life. But they have been nothing short of energizing and enlightening. I'm pleased to annouce that no amount of scary green poopy can make me run and hide. I can now change a dirty diaper quick draw.

The other night we had Lauren's birthday and for and extra treat we went out to a place called "lambert's". Lamberts called themselves "the one and only home of the throwed roll." As unappealing as it sounds they spoke the truth. Every five minutes some young man with a cart with come in and yell "hot rolls!" To which people would lift their hands and wave. Then he'd throw a roll and they'd happily catch it and start to eat possibly calling over the much less popular molasses guy to soap some of the thick sticky sweetness on a roll. everyt side dish was fried and to my disappointment my beans were canned. But it was interesting to watch the 8 year olds catch roll after roll, standing up on booths bench. and the charbroiled chicken was pleasant. I kept thinking that all of the roll throwers and wait staff had themed accents, and then i'd remember that i was in northern missouri.
