Well, I really like SpecOps!Jazz. (SpecOps!Mirage is fun, too, but he's been upstaged by 'I'm deeply professional, but my superiors are crazy!' Mirage, from last chapter.)

The virus fallout is continuing to be deeply fascinating, well-thought-out and creepy. No wonder Ratchet objected.

Also, Starscream and Soundwave are very much off my Christmas Card list. The injury descriptions are far beyond the pale - the slime getting into Jazz's wounds, the carefully snapped fingers, the bleeding to death from lesser energon lines.

I'm glad you like Jazz, and Mirage (in all his incarnations). They're both so professional in their own ways, even if Jazz is not at his best.

And true, the Decepticons weren't gentle... and that was kind of hard to overlook when I wrote this. Still, I'm glad you're enjoying the story, and thanks for commenting!

Yeep - wee bit of a backfire there, with the virus, in that Prowl and Jazz are nearly dead of neglect by the time rescue arrives.

I love all the little details you add here, like Mirage being so accustomed to the poorly maintained Nemesis that he knows to grease the hinges before he opens a door. And I also love how Jazz gives off so much badass vibeness that Mirage, even "knowing" that this is a fellow Autobot and friend that calls him by nickname, is completely freaked out.
