Do you know what I did yesterday?

OMG I MET GERARD WAY! Um, heh.

So, I got my ass out of bed way early for me. At like 7 am. I knew that I had to go and get in line for the signing because it's Gerard and well, really the fact that I had the opportunity to meet Gerard was kinda enough.

Anyway, I had this plan. I had bought two comic books. One for me and one for my niece whom I love to pieces, and I was totally hoping that I could get him to sign both because she loves MCR and it's her birthday and I'm broke and it would totally make for like an awesome birthday present for her. Also, I figured if I got into line early enough then I could totally make class at 6pm. Yeah, more on that later.

So, ass out of bed, I went and ate breakfast, watched some House, and settled down to check the email before I had to leave at like 9 ish. Hey, I figured that since the signing didn't start until 4, I had plenty of time. Turns out that they'd announced that they were handing out wristbands starting at 10. Well, that changed things… Plans were moved up.

I ended up getting out there and in line at about 9:30. Thank god they run more trains at rush hour, you know. Talked to some interesting people in line while I waited to get my band. Then after I got mine, I did something sneaky. They were just handing the bands, and not putting them on people, so I walked out, went about half a block away, dropped my bookbag on a bench and basically changed. Hoodie came off, hair came down and was brushed over my eyes… all in order so I could go back in and get another wristband for femmequixotic. Hey, I wasn't going to take a chance that random store dude was going to recognize me 'cause, dude, that's just the kinda luck I have. 2 wristbands were obtained! Yay!

Femme, was very happy with my procurement of wristband. Which made me happy because I managed to earn my lunch. Not that it mattered, it turned out because store dude walked out with the last five and asked if anyone needed one a few hours later. *sigh* stealthy!Dragon still rocks.

After that there was a whole lot of standing, some sitting, then some chatting when Femme finally got there. (There was also a visit to Starbucks and to Lush... the former was fruitful and the latter, while educational, was not. *sad face*)

Oh, and then about 45 minutes before the signing was scheduled to start, a Brinks truck pulls up. Well, for the 2005 VMAs MCR showed up in a brinks armored truck, and as it parked a couple storefronts down from is, I saw a guy looking out of the tiny side window of the back. Not the cab window, a little window in the back. It was kinda weird. Anyway, I decided that Gerard totally showed up in the brinks truck because that just would have been totally awesome. Forget that no one came out of the brinks truck, he was in there, dude. Only because it amuses me. It should amuse you too. Have a picture:

That was the only picture I got on my camera... I did get pics on my cell of the line before and the line behind though. There was no taking pictures of Gerard however. Which while it was a bummer, i can imagine that it totally would have slowed down the line liek WHOA.

BTW, this one was taken about an hour or so before the signing was to start... the line got longer. :D

And since I'm in a posting pictures type of mood, I also took a picture of a pizza delivery service bicycle! This also amuses me to no end because DUDE! They do exist! Hee!

All in all meeting G took all of a minute or less, but still it was totally awesome! He signed my comic. Signed my niece's (and even wrote Happy Birthday on it) and I managed to not sound like a complete dumbass when I told him how much I liked the first issue and all the story hooks scattered throughout, which is nothing but true, 'cause I did. Then I told him I couldn't wait for the next one. He laughed a little and said thanks and that the second issue was amazing and that he was looking forward to it too!

So yeah, AWESOME!

Then, instead of going to class, Femme told me I wasn't allowed to and that I had to hang with new bandom people. Well, not totally new, I think I like waved to two of them at Project Rev, but I can't remember. Which, totally awesome as well. Fandom people rock! *waves to lordessrenegade, janet_carter, and book_of_calm*

All in all, the day was *insert synonym of awesome here*!

And… OMG, I MET GERARD WAY!

bandom: emo boyz, mcr, bandom: gerard way
