We are waiting / We have not forgotten
Have I ever mentioned how much I hate history?
I can't stand it. Okay, so at least 30% of that is probably related to the fact that I have a cumulative test covering twenty-plus chapters of American history. But even so. I've never liked history (or middle-school "social studies"). I hate memorizing dates, and I can never seem to analyze to my teachers' satisfaction. Yeah, I know the too-often-repeated quote that condemns you to repeat history if you don't remember. But having the memory and/or attention span of a goldfish isn't really helping me much. :| AP Euro and US are the worst; with my dismal memory and ability to analyse, the most I can hope for from both the test and the class is a barely-passing grade. This is not helped at all by the fact that everyone in my class seems to be taking AP because they actually like it, and not because their friends were taking it and felt pressured into taking more than one AP.
You'd think the Hetalia fandom would have cultivated a historian in me. But no. It just makes the process marginally more tolerable.
In other news, Anime Boston 2010 is coming up. I'm not really sure if I should be excited, worried, dismayed, joyful, or what. This is mostly because I don't know if I'll be able to cosplay this year or not. If I do, it'll be my first year; if not, it's all going to hinge on next year. Ahhh. In the increasingly-unlikely chance I start and finish something in time for the con, it'll most likely be one of three: Hinamori Momo, from Bleach (but flashback!version, because I wanted to be special when I decided on her); Hong Kong from Axis Powers Hetalia (normal!version, because if I make it it'll have to be easy); or Ennis from Baccano! (who would theoretically involve the least amount of actual sewing, as suits are fairly easy to find ready-made and in all sorts of styles and colors and stuff).
This is going to get too long for me, so I'll continue my cosplay post later. :) And in the meantime, I think I'll go to sleep. I have six hours (including one class) before that stupid APUSH test I haven't studied enough for.
