I'm watching something on Spike called "Real Vice Cops". It was on when I woke up from a nap.
In the show, cops repeatedly violate the law in the pursuit of big drug and prostitution busts.
Then, incredibly, the people they bust ask them for legal advice. The people who are busted ask the cops for legal advice.
This is unbelievably stupid.
Also, I think Thomas Pynchon is right and the reason that these shows are on TV is to get people used to the idea that they don't have human rights in America.
