some give up, just letting themselves succomb to the world. they are trampled by the madness they find there and never seek to do anything about it. instead they turn towards despair and seek to separate themselves from reality through artificial means, seeking pleasure in things that get them nowhere...
others step up, trying to conquer everything that comes their way and eventually become engulfed in the never-ending flood. they all eventually fall victim to the insanity that is life...
still others flow with it, solving the problems that would prevent them from proceeding and ignoring those that are relatively unimportant. they strive simply to live, ignoring the fact that their lives are not perfect and not trying to do anything about it...
