I bought myself a few birthday presents - the journal came in the mail today. It is just as pretty as the iPad case that I got a few months ago. Both came from Oberon Design - nice thick leather. The yarn I bought a few days ago when I went to Wisconsin Craft Market to pick up a skein of yarn that my sister wanted. : ) Now I just have to find the perfect sweater pattern for it.
My sister works in a yarn store and when she saw these
she decided to send them for my birthday - Malabrigo Moro silk yarn in Aguas which is one of my favorite Malabrigo colors. Once they arrive, I'll have to find the perfect shawl pattern.
I also got myself some pad thai, turtle cheesecake and some Haagen Dazs ice cream (spicy pecan turtle) so not everything was teal.
Finished up the audiobook of the new Robin Hobb book - Fool's Quest. I read the book last week when it came out. The audiobook version added to my enjoyment. A lot of people on Audible are complaining about the narrator, but I loved his voice for the main character. Now I just have to wait a year or so for the last book in the latest trilogy. When the first book in the first trilogy started Fitz was about 5 or 6 years old and now he is up to about my age. Of course, he has the advantage of still looking in his mid-thirties instead of his early 60s. : ) If you haven't read the Fitz and the Fool books, I highly recommend them.
