The last 24 hours or so have been pretty awesome:
- Last night I was on KOPN, the Columbia community radio, being interviewed about my political activism. As soon as it becomes available on podcast from their website, I'll post it.
- Also last night there was a vigil for 9/11. I hope that everyone who reads this took some time to reflect on what's happened since that day 6 years ago. The event that I went to took the message that a peaceful world is still possible, despite what's happened.
- Also also last night, I had tea/hot cocoa with the new activism director for Peaceworks. That title is slightly misleading since she's less than a year older than I. I'm not sure how she feels about me, but just the fact that she smiles every time I talk to her brightens my day. I'm hoping there will be much more tea/cocoa in the future.
- Also also last night I was walking home from all this and some drunk guy stopped me kinda close to my house. he said he lost his cell phone (his "life line") and asked me if I would wait a minute for him to run up to his room and then call it. He ended up finding it there and kept yelling thank you for as long as I was in earshot. Silly drunk guy, I was glad to help.
- Today, I found out that I will probably be able to drop the Geography class that I dislike so very much. I love Geography, but this class is almost entirely statistics so it's not quite the same. It looks like I can drop it, be taking only 6 hours, and still graduate in December. As a symbolic act of loathing for the class, I am making this update during it on my laptop.
- Also today, I got a call from Columbia Public Schools offering me an interview for the substitute teaching job that I had all but given up hope on. Gleeeeeeeeeeee!!!!! This is the job I wanted most when I was actively searching and now I might actually get it.
