"Admitting you have a fear is the first step in conquering that fear." A school friend of mine would tell me this before I'd have to give a speech in class. We'd giggle at the play on the 12 step program adage & that'd actually be my first step in relaxing enough to not get the nervous sweats before standing in front of 20 judgmental teenagers. I very much agree with exposure therapy, to an extent. There are fears we just can't overcome but there is so much we can do to grow as people. I try to be as fearless as possible. I don't always succeed, but I like to think I try.

Haha I don't think that I can do any exposure therapy that has me actually coming into contact with bugs. Just yikes. hskdfhjsd

I know right?! I will straight up have a heart attack if I ever had to do any of those Fear Factor challenges where people had bugs fall on them or stick their hand in a bucket of bugs, yikes.

No to bugs & a big hell no to Fear Factor bugs. I will not eat them and I will not lay in a glass box as you dump them on me. Heart attack is right!!

Do you believe those fears that can't be overcome can at least be lessened?, if not through exposure therapy, then by some other means?

You do great as coming off as fearless!
