Only One Life

Drabble, 100 w.
Nibbles of jammy bread and a thermos of tea between them as the sun rises over Barcelona, skyline burnished pink and yellow.
Drowsy from waking early and the already-gathering heat of the day, Rose stretches out for a catnap - bare feet nestled in the Doctor’s lap. He contemplates ten lives lived as he gently taps upon ten, sun-kissed toes.
Quiet moments, such as this, are a new brand of Adventure.
Only One Life
(and the clock is ticking)
But
he has all the time in the world
to watch a sunbeam
tell its secrets
to the soles
of her feet.
