I've never felt the compulsion to rec a fic before, but I simply MUST share this one with you guys, if you aren't already reading along ...

It’s summertime, and one of the DW fandom’s best authors is knocking down sandcastles with her version of the Twelfth Doctor ... as a woman!
psyfi_geekgirl has consistently blown my mind with this fic, every Friday, for the past several months (you can set your watch by her postings). The writing is impeccable and the plot is, in a word: E P I C.
Adventure, suspense, angst-o-rama, brilliant humor and major shippiness - this fic delivers, in a big way. It is as subtle and complex as it is humorous and heartbreaking.
The author says it best on her own LJ page:
There are mysteries along the way, and a prophecy. There are even a few changes as Twelve figures out who she is. But she’s still the Doctor. And hopefully in the end, it’ll be her hearts-and not her gender-that will win you over!
Excerpt:
... the simple, horrible, frightening fear was that this regeneration hadn’t gone quite right. This was more than just a gender change-although that was still quite a shock-and it was way more that just the usual temporary amnesia, brief psychotic reaction, annoying cravings or regeneration sickness.
Even then, even if I change, it feels like dying. Everything I am dies. Some new man goes sauntering away. And I’m dead…
Except there was no new man-it was so much more than that. Perhaps much, much more. The Doctor couldn’t be sure yet, but she could feel ALL OF THEM behind her eyes, vying for control ...
Her feelings had the strength of eleven men.
