Anniversary
For our anniversary we stayed a night at the Anniversary Inn. They have themed rooms and we stayed in the Treasure Island Suite. It was a lot of fun. We showed up at the hotel dressed up. I was wearing my Renaissance dress and Alyx was wearing his black pirate shirt. We forgot to get the camera until after we had already changed and I didn't want to get back into that thing so we didn't get pictures of us dressed up in the room but we would definitely go again, so maybe next time. It was really nice to get away and spend some time alone with Alyx.
We stayed at mom's place in SLC for the rest of the weekend. We spent some time with Shaleen and Jared and, of course, mom. We went to a 3-D undersea show at the Planetarium. I enjoyed that, except we didn't have very good seats so the 3-D didn't always work. We went out to eat a couple of times, once at Red Lobster. Alyx ordered lobster and I tried it. I actually liked it although, not enough to pay what it costs. I don't usually like sea foods except for fish, which I love, and some shrimp. I also tried some of his scallops and didn't care for them. We had ice cream at Cold Stone, which is always good.
It was a good weekend and a nice, break from the kids, which I needed. They stayed with Alyx's parents.
Tony is so cute and so smart. One day we were taking our walk and he started asking me what each kind of car we passed was. So I told him and then I started showing him how to look for the symbol and what each one meant. He can now pick out Ford, GMC, Chevy, Dodge, Volkswagon, Mercury, Toyota, and probalby some that I am forgetting, not to mention Peterbuilt and John Deere. He is also really good on the computer. He can start it, log into his own account, find whichever game he wants, log on the internet, and all kinds of other stuff. Pretty soon he's going to know more about computers than me.
Zaylee is such a girly girl. She knows it is all about accessorizing. She loves to try on all kinds of different shoes, hats, jackets and vests, bracelets, necklaces, and even anklets. She's getting to be quite the fit thrower. She flops down on the floor and everything. But she has a very contagious laugh and she uses it often. She loves to follow Tony around everywhere. He likes to have her follow him too, most of the time. He's started teaching her things. It's very cute. I think Zaylee is finally sleeping through the night, for which I am very grateful.
Now if we can just get Alyx's job situation worked out then everything would be great. He wants to start his business again, but just quitting is scary with a family to provide for. It will work out. We just need to have faith and hang in there.
Anyway, that's life.
