Easily amused or ret-um-mentally challenged? You decide

I find it amusing that...

1. It is apparently now en vogue to say how much you dislike Bush. While I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment, I find the ease with which our professor said so in front of 260 med students refreshing. My little communist soul rejoiced.

2. Two 'waspy' women in a coffee shop loudly discussing how to best cheat on a college essay of either a very underachieving or very stupid son. Lady, maybe you should have spent so much effort earlier on, instilling the love of learning and education into your kid. It might just be too late now.

3. A professor who in summary to a lecture where we discussed botulism (Janie, I think of you!), gangrene, and tetanus, said, "Basically, all these organisms can be clinically significant". Tha pimp of understatement.

4. A patient, who related to us a story of her financially strapped friend buying drugs (life-sustaining drugs) from Canada. Homeland security confiscated those drugs at the bordeer, and sent her a very scary and graphic batch of documents detailing all the articles this 70 year old women can be persecuted under. To emphasize their point, they also included a graphic of a snake (a hydra, a dragon?) coming after a criminal (her). While you might think this is a joke, this lady was very together, quite lucid, in her right mind, well-informed, well-read, and very intelligent. So I can only believe her. I know this can be funny in so many ways, I all I am is mad when I think of Homeland Security scaring sick old ladies, and wasting their time and efforts protecting BigPharm instead of actually protecting us.
