My car got rear-ended while I was stopped at a red light yesterday. There is a big license plate indentation in the rear bumper and there are gouges where the bolts were, but it could have been a lot worse. It's alright, and I'm not going to make a claim because Connecticut is a no-fault state and with my insurance deductible it wouldn't be worth it. It just sucks because I just bought this car, and it was perfect. And of course, the woman's car was fine. She hits me and gets out of her car and goes "I think my bumper hit you". I said "Um...yeah I think so." I made her pull over, but the amount of damage wasn't terrible. When the police came they told me it really wouldn't be worth an insurance claim. And it's really not a big deal. Why do people find it so enticing to hit me while I'm stopped? A few years ago a tow truck backed into my neon while I was parked at a gas station.
It's kind of funny when you think about it. I mean, of COURSE I get rear-ended. Why WOULDN'T I? I am to the point now where I'm used to things going wrong and I have decided that I need to stop whining about it and just deal with the fact that life really likes to shit on me.
I called one of the subletters (Lexi is supposed to call the other) and left a message saying if we don't have all of the money by Oct. 1, we WILL go to small claims court. And we will too.
I spent the last few weeks in CT with my mom. It was nice to be with her and talk things out. I can't wait for school to start so that I can have a routine again.
I am in a much better place now than I was earlier this month, but I still have some rough times.
