Yes, i'm alive. My roommate Malik and i moved into our apartment at the beginning of July, and have slowly been filling it with our stuff. We had quite an eventful weekend getting all our furniture there, most of it coming from my dad and his mom, who both live around the renton area. To make a long story short, I hope to never again drive a pickup truck so overloaded with stuff that far. Anyway, it has been interesting discovering just how much stuff it takes to live outside of the dorms, like garbage bags or a plunger - who knew?.
After a few fruitless weeks of searching for work, i was eventually hired (practically on the spot) at Target, where i have been working for a few weeks. Yes, i have entered the glamorous world of Cart Attendant - part heavy labor, part janitorial - pretty much just call me Target's Bitch. Along with collecting carts from the parking lot (and the rest of the mall) I do the hourly bathroom checkups, carry heavy merchandise to guest's (customer's) cars, clean up spills, etc. The job wouldn't be so bad, actually, except that now that my training period is over there is only ever one cart attendant on duty at a time, which becomes exceedingly difficult when the store gets busy. In any event, i'm fairly certain i am now walking several miles a day, albeit indoors.
Lastly, because it's not quite as important: I finally got a Wii! A month and a half after my birthday, I happen to be walking past the electronics section at Target and spot 3 there, so as soon as i get my lunch break (we have to be off the clock to buy stuff) I dashed home to get my checkbook and raced back to buy one. The best part is that i get a 10% discount at Target, so even with tax it was like $243! I still only have Wii sports, but i have 2 controllers and i'm going to buy WarioWare tomorrow.
