mad happenings at WWU

May 03, 2006 22:21

So this began yesterday, not much really happened, but then they came back today and the student body just united in protest and its really about the most awesome things ever:

So yesterday i noticed them on my way to my first class, and i guess they were there all day and came back today as well. Needless to say, it's a little disconcerting to see this on your way to class at 9 in the morning:

Genocide, you say? Do tell! What sort?

Oooooo that's right. They compare abortions to the holocaust and what appears to be racial violence in the american south. Most grusomely, i might add, with many shots of fetuses next to quarters and dimes for size comparisons. No one was buying any of it, and today is when the students just couldnt take it anymore:

"Warning: Ignorance ahead"

"Trust me with a choice before you Trust me with a child"

"As a Christian I apologize for what is going on here today (there is a REAL genocide going on in Darfur)"

I guess since they already had a strong presence, the christians decided that it might be a good time to gain some new followers:

I'm gonna take a wild stab and assume they didn't find much of an audience in red square today.

Today, i am very proud to be a liberal.
