Not usually a Spock/anybody fan, as you know...but this is just so sweet and I love your insecure McCoy to death....

I can't say that Spock in the movie really worked for me but I have one in my head that I find interesting! Is it just me or has fandom gone comatose?

Hmmm...it has a little, I haven't been around long enough to know if this is a cyclical thing, or if we're just in some seasonal induced lull. At least there is some decent activity on circ_bamboo's comment ficfest...although I'm going to have to gold off on anything but the most perfunctory participation until I get back from DC in two weeks.

I wonder if people aren't running out of ideas and / or energy since the movie was released. Which is a shame, there aren't other fandoms I'm interested in. Although I should probably be spending more time attending to RL!

This is lovely. I really like how you gave us the scene from both points of view, and that their thoughts are so ... interlocking in some ways, and mistaken in others.

Thank you. I see each needing it while not understanding why the other wants it too.

This was an utterly satisfying fic on so many levels, just packed with details I adored. The hair-stroking, which I can never get enough of, was wonderfully detailed. I have a real weakness for this pairing being tender with each other, and I love that you characterized their entire relationship in this one moment, and showed so perfectly how they complement each other, how they each have more to give and are in this liminal moment before they give it. Usually fics like these make me anxious because of the unresolved tension, but on the contrary you really made me believe that these two will get to the next step -- that they already have it, in a sense, because of this one moment between them. ♥

Oh, I'm glad you liked it. I think this pairing could be lovely together but have so little chance of every getting close enough to realise that.

It seems to be Spock/McCoy day today (just read the Pride&Prejudice BB rendition with them) and this story fits very well to them!

They're a couple that's so wonderfully (for a writer) prone to assumptions and misunderstandings. And despite the AOS setting I see the TOS characters here, which makes me happy.

If Spock had access to his mind, to his petty jealousies, to his trivial musings, to his occasional bouts of self-loathing, he would know once and for all that he could do better.

*hearts McCoy* It's all fine...

Thank you. I always see the fear of mind-reading as not being so much lack of privacy as fear of exposure of the sad and seedy and mundane thoughts that fill most minds (well, mine anyway). I'm glad that it echoes TOS for you - I read all the S/M stories off your TOS lists.

Thank you. I see this McCoy has having a big heart but lacking the ability to express it well - and having been in a emotionally manipulative marriage. I'm really glad that Spock worked for you, I've never tried writing him before. The colour was triggered by watching a TV programme about synesthesia.
