A normal tear contains over 200 electrolytes...and a whole bunch of other stuff that doesn't matter in this discussion. To make my sudefed shakes and sinus infection induced nausea go away, I set myself to read sad sad sad stories this morning and sob my heart out. It's that or I will have to watch that episode of MASH where Henry goes home and ( Read more... )

Gateroller's Four Days Remembering. An AU remake of The Bridges of Madison County. *sniff*

No matter how many times I read it, the ending stays the same, dammit! :(

I know! Some things are worse than death(fic).

A few more, because I should be reading ficathon, not mourning.

Silver by Jude. Silver Anniversary and death. :(
To Remember by Starblade. A series about partner betrayal, but it spans years and the last chapter has character death. I adore this fic; in my top ten of all time favorites.
Willemakee by Mary Jane. Not one of my favorites -- maybe it's just too hopeless -- but seems to be most everyone's favorite deathfic.
The Standard of Comparison by Otter. Ouch.

The Bridges rip off has death!fic components, too, though. All your weepy needs in one fic!

True, but it's the will he/won't he scene that kills me. One of the few fics that makes me yell at a character. I need my happy endings! And I'm a wuss.

Me, too, totally! :D Also, so sad how Jack conducts his life after. Don't know what of that was direct lift from Bridges, vs. the author's own inspiration.

And the camera! *sobs*

I've never seen the movie, or read the book, but from the quality of the fic, I'm betting it's right from the original.

I think a big part of the sadness is that I can put myself in Daniel's shoes. Makes a person wonder what they'd do in that situation . . . or not. ;-)

I know! *whimpers*
