LOL I think you must be shining at me or something, because I’ve done some reading up about David and Jonathan for the story I’m writing at the moment. As you can see from this story, I’m totally into the idea of a really pure and platonic devotion most definitely from Cas for Dean, maybe more grudging affection from Dean for Cas [if only because Dean is so emotionally stunted he doesn’t recognize that what he feels for Cas is a sort of love, at least not at this point].
I just feel that this is way more profound than a physical relationship, and sometimes I think that reducing it to sex sort of trivializes this very profound bond that arises out of the fact that Castiel saw Dean at his very worst, and didn’t judge him. I don’t know if you’ve seen any of S5 in Blighty, but the Dean-Cas relationship was a real disappointment for most of the season and MC/Cas wasn’t used all that well [IMO]. I really hope things will improve in S6.
Yes it was Ruby who ran Dean down! There are a couple of hints as to that ongoing but it’s surprising how many people missed it. I do bury things though: don’t want to give everything away at once! LOL, that metaphor is one of the wilder ones, huh? I really believe in writing feelings and reactions the way I visualize them in my head, and sometimes it can be pretty abstract and stream of consciousness - just how my mind works! I often say that the metaphor in TKM about Dean’s mind being like the Millennium Falcon flying through the asteroid belt, and being bombarded all the time by half formed thoughts and impressions, really is a description of my mind.
Now I know you’re a bible teacher’s daughter I’m wondering what you will make of my traditional/pop culture Hell as you read on! :-O Hope you will forgive the blasphemy - I’m afraid I strayed from the path long ago! >:)
