Warning: Oh Primus, it's a poem. It's from the POV of Thundercracker
Midst the days last rays of light, we took in to the skies
For us all that mattered was the element of surprise
I don't need to understand now, for I only need to fight.
Today is just another day, no different in my sight.
The fall of night was quiet; our enemy unsuspecting,
'till through the silent night we came, 'gainst those who'd fall protecting
I don't want to understand now, I just want to stay alive.
Tomorrow is another day, for those who can survive.
Our target's peace we shatter, with the agony of fright.
Welcome in the numbing cold, forget what's wrong and right.
I can't seem to understand now, I guess I'm just not able.
This world is full of shades of grey, and colours so unstable.
Bereft of my cause; once lost in its portrayal
I was never certain what it was, except in its betrayal.
