seriously it was supposed to be a one hour appointment

Every one of the many people I interacted with on my trip to Burlington today was courteous and efficient. Several were conspicuously personable, thorough, and helpful. I received excellent care, and I'm glad I was able to get labs and imaging done in the same day without having to schedule extra follow-up appointments.

Nevertheless, I spent most of the day miserable. It's been a really long time since I pulled a 10-hour day at work, y'all (counting the commute, which I do for purposes of exertion.) I absolutely do not miss it. Temperature issues, headache, a mouth that stayed dry even with water actually in it... 0/10 would not recommend. (Probably didn't help that I'd been up for 8 hours already before it started.)

The good news is that even in that context, I had a couple little moments where e.g. I really saw the Christmas lights, or the snow-covered trees on the way there, or I really heard the music I was playing. It's a good feeling, y'all. And it's worth pursuing further.
