RAW images

Not that long ago I was googling around trying to find some information on the best way to take shots of lightning with my Canon A720 IS. Successfully capturing lightning is, challenging.

In my searches, I discovered a rather spiffy site that allowed me to gain a great deal more control over my camera, and essentially hack it and run a script to do the heavy lifting for me! Sweet says I.

Interestingly, it also allows me to save the RAW images as well. Which brings to my actual problem/question. Does anyone out there know of a decent linux app that deals with RAW images? I've tried both dcraw and ufraw to no avail, they just don't recognize the .crw files being created by my Canon.

Aaaand in my usual effort to not appear to be an idiot, I got back to the http://chdk.wikia.com/ site, and there at the bottom is this:

The dcraw beginning with version 8.82 supports RAW format for A720 IS.

The version included with Ubuntu?

Raw photo decoder "dcraw" v8.80

Doh!

Looks like I'll have to install it by hand to make this work until Ubuntu catches up!
