little bit behind..
i've read two books.. bought two tree. and received some beautiful art amongst everything else thats been forgotten.
Dragons of a Fallen Sun.
I don't think i've yet to find fault with any of the Dragonlance novels i've read. Least anything big. This one is no exception. the only thing that irked me some was Mina's group. no fault of her or her group, it just seemed after a while everything was lifted straight out of the bible including a preachy vibe.. basically bad childhood memories in ways...
will keep an eye out for the sequels.
The Dragons of the Cuyahoga.
Everyone loves dragons in the titles. Well, I will say this book did end up as good as its cover artwork... thats a compliment... its a very interesting idea of magical beings opening a gateway into the middle of a big city from their war torn world.... actually, that as a story line would be better. this book takes places about 10 years after such.. so everyone is settled and its normal to have a dragon fly overhead and elves going about their business in the streets..
it was quite a suspenseful mystery/action novel.. the main character is a peon for the local paper that ends up trying to investigate the death of the 'first dragon'. basically gets himself over his head with the wealthy and powerful individuals and all that mafia like jazz.
only get to meet one dragon the whole time.. only character that made me smile. the rest of the book is quite cold. but its amusing to see a dragoness using a large computer mouse to play the stock market.
after i had let the book set for a while, i did notice a major plot hole. one. the political setup in the story would never happen in real life. i seriously doubt a mayor would be able to have full authoritarian control over something important as this portal without all the governments of the world (not to mention the US that this takes place in) fighting over its control. second.. good, oldfashioned film cameras are not susceptible to EMI.
Other than that, a few days ago, i got the major art piece i commissioned a while ago.
So,
go see it, love it, favorite it, hug it, whatever! Isn't it amazing! ^.-.^
It was based on something I experienced many years ago. I believe i would have spoken about it here at some time. basically fading off while at work to find myself perched upon a rock as my true self.
The artist is just amazing and extremely talented. the details, man! damn! a few issues may be noticed by those with keen eyes, but overall I am very pleased ^.-.^ tis already my background for both my systems.
lets see.. i just had to spend a few many minutes putting the backspace key back on the keyboard after it randomly flew off >.-.<; stupid metal bars.
i mentioned buying christmas trees i think.. if not, i have now. bought two new trees. just something cheap and affordable and the sizes we wanted.. both prelit with regular lights. all our previous trees have worn out and broken or something. live trees are nice but a PITA. trying to get a jump start to the decorating for once this year.
just got back from the dentist as well. a biyearly checkup.. passed quite well though apparently i have unhappy gums.. i blame it on the candy dish at work <.-.<;
