Japanese hospital.

First of all, I'm ok.

Now. As many of you may have noticed, I've been sick for the past month and a half or so. Nothing serious, but it's just running from diarrhea to constipation on a daily basis. Which, again, isn't too bad, if it wasn't for the fact that I have to work a pretty demanding job, and that it has been going on for the past month and a half (!)

So - Narita-Shi Red-Cross Hospital.
First of all - it's quite new. second - clean. third - nice. fourth - SO MANY LINES!
You walk in the door into a common room where they take your information and open a file for you (first timers it will cost 3,000Yen). They call your name, give you your file + your new magnetic card and a hospital map with the desk that you need to go to, circled.
you get to that desk (mine was Internal Medicine on the 2nd floor) and you get a number and a form to fill out (what ails you?). when your number is called you are moved to a side anteroom where you and 3-4 others are being debriefed. I kid you not.
הרגשתי כאילו שאני נכנס למשפט צבאי - אם אתה יוצא זכאי, אתה מצדיע, אם אשם אז הוא מצדיע...
"When you will enter the appropriate room, please say your full name to the Dr." (Doctors are also called sensei)
When I was called in, I talked to the doctor and had that whole procedure (Side note - it differed from my visit to the private clinic in the two ways that were special - in the private clinic the tongue-suppressors were made of metal, and there was a nice old lady that her whole duty was to help me undress, or hold my shirt up when the doc examines me. hmmm... could be interesting to all you nurse-fetish lovers if she wasn't so old... yet again - fetishes go a long way)

This is a good place to thank Ayako from ALS who came and waited with me through the whole day, so that she could translate for me - without her I wouldn't have been able to get past the entrance to the hospital (or find it for that matter).

Once the talk with the Doc was done - "please wait in the main room, while we get your file ready."
"Yoni Arukan-sama!" A nice nurse took me and Ayako back to the anteroom, and behind a screen (פרגוד) explains the complicated actions that I have to take, in order for the tests, on next week, to succeed.

Done? Ok, it's time to pay, and get your prescribed medication. Wait on line, give back your file, and take a number to the payment machines (my bill was all in all about 7,000Yen (3,000 beginner + 2,000 examination and medication + 2,000 examination equipment). Yes, they have machines, which knows how much you're supposed to pay, and once you pay it you get a receipt, which you give to the next counter in order to take your medication, that hopefully was already set out for you. (Mine were)

I entered the hospital at 9:00, and left it at about 12:00. I'm told that it's actually quite an achievement. I was prepared for quite a few hours of waiting.

So that's about it. I'll have the test next week.
I have spared you the details of this examination, but if I get enough comments about - hey Yoni, give us all the gory details (and I assure you that they are gory) - I will do so in my next post.
