Chasing Daylight

This is from Sunday's New York Times "Jobs" section:

Facing Death, Learning to Live

What would you do if you were given mere months to live? We've all asked ourselves that, playing a game of sorts to separate the important from the less so. We usually forget the answers quickly, and go back to the bad habits that made us wonder in the first place.

When Eugene D. O'Kelly faced that question, in May of last year, it was for real. He learned he had glioblastoma multiforme, an inoperable, incurable brain tumor, and was told he would die before Christmas. What did he do with those months? He wrote a book.

The result is "Chasing Daylight: How My Forthcoming Death Transformed My Life" (McGraw-Hill, 2006). Published posthumously, it is a book about how a successful man learns to redefine success in the last months of his life.
This book just went to the top of my "Must Read" list.
