Whoa. I awake this afternoon to snow. Lots and Lots of Snow.
In NYC: They predicted 8-10 inches. We've got 22+ and it's still coming down. (That's 56cm for all you non-Merkins.) Gotta love the live tv interview with a man-on-the-street who asked an reporter what they were smoking when they predicted 10". Second largest snowfall on record. Trains at a standstill. Airports closed. Our Mayor declaring that the city will need just 8 hours to prepare and clear all the roads for tomorrow morning's commute. (Is he insane? Go to work? Fuhgedaboutit!)
Blackouts in MD and on LI. Our generator is charged, but thankfully we've had no need for it. Day After Tomorrow aired on Cinemax yesterday. Now we get to experience the mini-home version. If anyone uses my library to start a bonfire there'll be hell to pay. ;-D
PSA of the day: If and when you clear your paths, please make sure to completely uncover any fire hydrants on your properties. Doing so can save precious time during a fire. There have been quite a few lightning strikes this morning....
