"Is that Hitler?"

Jan 19, 2009 23:36

Before I go about offending people by say that Hitler has been amusing me greatly over the past twenty minutes let me make a few statements that show that I am not in league with the mass murdering fuckhead. So I've spent that last few weeks diving into the deep end of University work and finding that I have done very little work on the project I am about to embark on. You see compared to the other folders I saw being handed in I felt that I am somewhat unprepared for the coming months.

So the week we handed in our projects began a week of drink and dancing and more drink. We went to the Thelka on Monday, Proppaganda on Wednesday and I was Bierkellering on the Friday for Shini's little visit. ^^

And Indeed unprepared when I discover that I can take out NOTHING from the media centre. I mean absolutly nothing! I can't book cameras, sound recording equipment or audio/tv editing suites. I'm a fucking third year! And yet I have somehow manged to slip through the system. I can't even book the kit I know I was physically at the workshops for. Which has hit me as a bit of a shocker but alas it's not the end of the world as the second years are doing their bunch of workshops in February which I can also attend and since I'm not filming until April then I'm not rushed on time. All I have to do is organise my crew, which consists so far of Myself and Homan. Now a two man crew won't get much done, and I feel that come to the edit I may be biased in how I cut everything but I want to edit this piece....I don't want to let someone else run rampant with it but as it turns out everyone else seems to be pretty booked up anyway. We technically do have a third member, a one Pascal, Squ~ally. However he is still unsure about wheather he can do the project due to a slight cock up on his own documentary with a rejected VISA so he's had to brick his idea and we've taken his problem on board and Jay (being the lovely and hardworking producer that he is) is drawing up Pascal's schedule for him and working on other ideas with him that can be filmed in the short space of time that we have left.

We'll get there, it's a odd process. I mean I'm glad I went into Uni today as I got offered a job as a sound recordist on Dave and Alex's independant film being made in February. So that'll keep me busy and while I don't want to get into the sound industry I won't turn anything down as I am trying to broaden my technical knowledge and using an SQN mixer and radio mic's (of which I have only used the SQN before) which gives me that experience. So other than university stuff what have I been doing lately? Well to tell the truth fuck all. You see over the last two weeks we've not had internet in the house as (after about a week of not doing anything about it we phoned up BT) there was a fault somewhere between our socket and the transformer. So over the weekend we thought "fuck it" and myself and Adam took the socket apart, cleaned it checked the wireing and then turned it off. Today Adam plugged it all back in again and BAM we have internet.

:D

So onto the stuff I have been amusing myself with. I have been playing around with my PSP and getting a variety of games to work on the thing. But these are my crowning glory since I did them myself rather than downloading the iso/eboots off the interwebs which I didn't have. So behold the screenshots of my work!

Ah Vagrant Story.....It's so good and quite possibly set in the same Universe as Final Fantasy 12, which I have only been borrowing but I managed to dig out my old disc and make eboot of it :D The next two I'm a little more proud of as the first one was fucking tricky to make without knowing what the fuck you are doing. Before I post the picture I'll give alittle back story. A good few yonks ago I inherited my friends RPG collection which had a fuck ton of PSX and PS2 rpgs in a box. One of which was a bootleg marked "Persona 2: Eternal Punishment". When I first got it I deemed that since I had not played the first game that I would avoid it until a time when I had and then play that. Some years passed and Persona 3 arrived on the PS2 and I gobbled it up and have yet to finish it, and so while it sits atop my TV taunting me to finish it I havn't had the time to play long rpgs as it's just very slow paced but it is solid gold regardless. So while looking for Vagrant Story I find the disc of Persona 2 again and preceed to rip it to an eboot.

Now the game annoyingly boots up into the debug menu, because its how orignal bootleg psx games worked I suppose. I never questioned the matter as this is my first time encountering one. So I then tried to fiddle about with buttons and menus and eventually I got this...

You'll have to ignore the flash on the screen as it was taken by my camera phone. So there we have it. I played the game quite a bit over the last week and have annoyingly lost my save data as I almost bricked my psp. So yes...now back to my original statement. Hitler is indeed a boss in this game and it has amused me kicking his ass with monsters :D So we go onto the next two games!

Thats right. My PSP can play Scumm games :D So thats Monkey Island, Indiana Jones, Day of the Tentacle, Sam and Max and various other adventure games from the nineties! :D I love my downgraded PSP to bits :DDDD

So yeah that roughly covers everything give or take a few piece of stuff I can't be arsed to write up at the moment. SO yeah until I next have verbal diarrea~

Peace! x
