My grade/jr. high school's only "special" classes were the mandatory PE and Music classes. 7th and 8th grade we went to a different room for math (two teachers traded their classes, basically...), and in 8th grade we could choose between choir and Newspaper, the latter of which was two sheets of pink paper stapled together. The kids were generally too stupid to have advanced classes [or at least assumed so, as we were hick children because of where we lived*], and those of us that weren't were held back because being a TAG student meant NOTHING and we continued to be held with the rest of the class. Otherwise I could probably have entered high school at Algebra II instead of Algebra I.

I hate school because school has ALWAYS held me back, without exception.

I said that to someone on DA... and it was very revealing to me, even, because I was sort of surprised by what I said. But it made sense... the reason I hate school is because school hates and always has hated me. It holds me back, and does the opposite of what it should.
