Proof That the DS OWnz

Something I wish to make perfectly clear:
I HATE Super Mario 64. It was, in my opinion, the WORST Mario game of ALL TIME. It always WILL be. The physics SUCKED, the control was HORRID (oh, the skidding! SO MUCH SKIDDING WITHTHE 360 DEGREE CONTROL THAT MADE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO GO IN THE ONE DIRECTION YOU WANTED TO!!! *screams loudly for a melodramatic expanse of time*), and the game simply wasn't any fun to me. It was a game, much like most of what THQ craps out, that I beat simply to prove to it that I could.

Nintendo said it was the Best Game of All Time in their top 100 thingy. Idiots.

Now, here's where I prove to you that the DS is awesome.

I went out yesterday and bought Super Mario 64 DS. It's Mario 64. With a DS added to it. Right off, one noticed that this is... different.

The game has been refined greatly. The control pad control? It makes me wonder WHY THE
DIDN'T THEY ALLOW CONTROL PAD CONTROLS ON MOST 64 GAMES!? That alone has made life SO MUCH easier for me. Even the stylus 360-degree control is easier than that stupid stick.

I love Yoshi. You start the game with Yoshi now. You are NOT required to play that scum, Mario, in most situations. Problem is, now I have reason to. Mario has all the fun minigames at the moment, and Yoshi can't defeat Boos. *sad* Or eat them. *more sad*

In any case, I lurve teh minigames! Gives me something to do with the stylus besides PictoChat Stick Man Battles with my brother. Catching those bloody rabbits might be easier with a top-down camera angle, but I can't blame the game for not having one - most games don't. Which is stypid.

The controls are refined, lots of new little things have been added, including an entire new wing to the castle where Peach's Secret Slide once was. It's still there, it's just in a much bigger room with her rec room, nursery, and, ultimately, Mario's prison and the Goomboss's dwelling. Biiiggeeeeerrrr. There's a toy fort you can run through int the courtyard where all the boos are now, too. The castle's secret stars are far more plentiful now. I think that's how they pulled off the 30 extra stars... :/

In any case, I'm actually enjoying Mario 64. Or, at least, a version of it. The fact that the DS has taken a game I loathe and made it fun proves that the thing is a sexy beast and any of you who call yourselves geeks need to get one immediately. *nods* Or at least as soon as possible. Because the DS can do anything you thought a gaming system could and then some. I hug it now. *hugs it*
