What an adventure these last few weeks have been! I rolled from one big project after another in quick succession. But here I am tonight with some room to breathe and a strong sense of accomplishment. As exhausted as I am, it's fuel for my soul. I'm feeling good.
Despite the minor rebellion of my over-worked sewing machine (and its subsequent replacement/upgrade), I managed to put together some beautiful covers for my tables. There was a lot of last-minute scrambling, but everything came together very nicely. We made it to the school a little after 7:30am to start setting up. I'm glad we decided to take advantage of the early start. We needed every minute of the two-and-a half hours to set things up. I imagine we'll get quicker with it as we get more shows under our belt. But it's amazing how much time it takes to dig all the jewelry out of their little bags.
I was so pre-occupied that I almost forgot to take any pictures. But I did manage to snap a couple of quick ones before things got truly under way. I think next time, I need to get a couple of close-ups. I was really happy with our final setup. Looking around at other vendors, I think we put forward a very elegant presentation given that this was our first time out and we aren't full-time vendors. And of course, I came away with a lot of ideas to make our next appearance even better. LOTS of ideas :)
As new vendors to the show, we were relegated to the secondary gymnasium. And there were a great number of other jewelry tables. By the time folks got to our table, I'm sure they were sick of seeing yet another stack of jewelry. Yet we still managed to pull a lot of people into our space with the shiny things we presented. In all, we sold about 20 pieces. Not an insignificant number of which were to incredible friends. It was a turning point in my stressful day to see familiar and beloved faces. Thank you all SO much!
Time now for some much-deserved unwinding.
