~And wash away the rain

I went to go see the eclipse and it was AMAZING :O absolutely surreal to be able to look up into the sky directly into the sun like that, and how dark it got like it was night and the temperature dropping, and everything going quiet. It was a weird feeling sitting there looking up in awe at this strange phenomenon, like I could imagine humans throughout history looking up at an eclipse with that same kind of confused awe, this witnessing of something beyond the limits of our world, something wonderful and so strange. It was hard to describe! I wanted it to last so much longer than it did, like to hold it in my hand and preserve that feeling forever. I'm glad I went and did it, even if I did have to travel for a while and stay in a motel and maybe caught a cold along the way. A singular experience! None of my photos of it came out very well but there are like a billion better pictures of it out there anyway, haha.

Anyway, the cold I got isn't too bad so I don't think it's covid, I had a bit of a headache and a tiny bit of a stuffy/runny nose and sore throat, but it already feels like it's almost gone. Mostly I feel kind of tired and foggy, like it's hard to focus on anything or decide on what to do. I expect it'll be gone in a day or two, probably. I think I might also feel a bit foggy since I spent most of today doing taxes and such and my brain is just like bpfhheeeehhh afterwards lol.

I did do a few small site updates! I mirrored my If I Pay Thee Not In Gold posts so if you missed me posting about that dumb book you can read it more easily in chronological order. Those posts were fun to do, I wonder if I should do them for another book? I actually still have a bunch of pictures I've taken of books I've read lately, I should get those together and post them. I also added some more links to the link page, to a few different html tutorials and such and some neat little sites I found recently. Make a website!! There are so many resources out there to help you! Doooo iiiit doooo iiiittt

One of them was Okua's site, who also wrote up a guide about a different ukagaka coding language, Kawari! Kawari is a lot more popular on the Japanese side than AYA/YAYA (which all of my ghosts use and subsequently, almost all English ghosts use since it's the language I used for the tutorial) and it's more user-friendly, although I haven't personally messed with it myself. I'm sort of tempted to do a quick little Heavy/Medic one in it just to test it out and see how it works. Nothing too complicated, I say to myself as I put on my clown makeup, just something to see how it works! But who knows if I'll actually commit to it, haha. I should really go back to Edgar and Scriabin and at least finish their shell... I got stuck on their punch poses because I couldn't quite figure out the flow I wanted for the hit itself on either of them.

I want to work on my maze too... I want to add some stuff past the teleporters and maybe some hints to get to the rather sparse super-secret page so far. Maybe a page where you can type in commands like a Sierra game? I'd have to look into how to do that though. lol learning all these coding things just to make stupid pages for my silly maze. I did pick up a thing about making a consistent footer that sticks to the bottom that I might use to redo the Heavy/Medic site footer... I may have to test it on the Dowasure landing page first to see if it'll work the way I want it to.
