To tell which works of art are real in this one, you can actually look at them. The forged ones have mistakes, like the samurai shooting finger guns or there being only one twin in the Remulus and Romulus statue. There's a guide online, and since there's only one real one per visit, I've found the easiest way to buy is to rule out the wrong ones or go straight for the right one if you see it immediately.

Also, villagers are a lot more likely to sell you artwork, although THEY CAN ALSO SELL YOU FAKES GDI JULIAN I LOOKED LIKE SUCH A MOOK IN FRONT OF BLATHERS
