So hey, I said we weren't quite done yet, and here we are! Mother 3 spent a long time in development and as such a lot of weird stuff was left in the coding. Some of it hints at some really fascinating possibilities for endings and battles and characters and the like. Even though it's not all strictly canon exactly, it can still add an interesting

I find the slideshow to be telling. It looks like the kind of snapshots used in the credits, but a couple of them depict things that only could have happened after the world was reborn. The Osohe Ghost Party has Duster in the DCMC, for example, and another shows Salsa with Saruko. Definitely the most interesting one is the former Pigmask working together with the Claymen in the fields--not planting, but replanting. Rebuilding. Together with the flashback "photos", it really seems like this was intended as a possible alternate credit roll, and that's a beautiful possibility to me.

I can't tell if Duster landed in the springs or if they're trying to help him get his bad leg in there but either way oh my God adorable
and then they feed him bizarre food and it's possibly inedible but he's just so happy and confused to have them worrying about him

I also love that it confirms that Hunter spent plenty of time just chillin' with the ghosts. IT EXPLAINS A LOT REALLY

Haha, I actually feel like the sparkly sprites might be stage magic, given that Kumatora (I wrote Hunter up there gdi) is dressed as Violet. WELCOME IN ENJOY THE SHOW *TWINKLE TWINKLE*
That wouldn't explain why Duster isn't dressed as Lucky, though 8O I wonder if teleportation was a thing before it became too complicated to work with the plot? SO MUCH WE DON'T KNOW

Awww I could see it as an alternate credit roll now that you mention it, that'd be adorable.

I FIGURED DUSTER LANDED IN THE SPRINGS WHEN HE FELL FROM THE SKY cause I can't really think of any other way for him to survive, haha. Then the Saturns pulled him out and gave him life noodles and took care of him~

Is that her Violet outfit? It looks different to me. :O But there are some odd sprites of Duster lying around that look almost like DBZ charging up so who knows, haha. WHO KNOWS WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN
I think Teleport was mentioned in one of the Memos, wasn't it? Maybe that's what they were meant for. :O What's also kinda interesting is that there's a full set of walking and running sprites for Duster in his Lucky outfit, but you actually don't ever see him walk around as Lucky, he's always stationary except for the very end during the credits when he walks on to join the DCMC. I wonder if they had more plans for Duster as Lucky? Or if they did the full-set of sprites just to be thorough, haha. I wonder if anyone's made gifs for those animations yet?
